I went to my first auction this weekend. We were told that the same builders who built our home were auctioning off all the furniture they used in their model homes. Sounded like an interesting event, so we headed over to the storage sheds where they were holding it all and viewed about 15 sheds worth of furniture. Russ needed to go to a baptism for a boy in his primary class, so he looked at the pieces, told me what he liked, gave me a budget, and left Savannah and I to do the bidding. It was really a lot of fun. There were some amazing deals to be had. I had to be a little careful, because all of my new neighbors were also there, and I didn't want to get in a bidding war with people I would be rubbing shoulders with, but all in all it was a fun activity. Russ came back after the baptism and loaded up the mini-van with:
a night stand for the guest room:

and a table for the lobby

Now I just need help figuring out what to put on the table. It's a little tricky since there is a basketball hoop not far from it, so any glass is pretty much out of the question. Luckily, I have stylish friends and sister-in-laws who I am sure would love to give me some advice. (hint hint)

We both got a little more sun than we had planned on, but Gracie did a great job holding our number and smiling at everyone trying to outbid us, how could you compete against this grin?
