Last week we walked over to the school and met the kids new teachers. McKay was excited to have Mrs. Taylor as his home room teacher. She is his math /science teacher who used to be a chemist, and just got back from dropping off her son at Harvard. I think McKay will have a lot to learn from her. When we told everyone who Lauren's teacher was, they all responded, "oh, she's the crazy fun one", sounds like a fun year for Lauren.
Emma has Mrs. Setna who also come highly recommended. I've enjoyed that she has already called me twice to chat about the new year, so I feel like I can be very involved.
Lauren on the first day of second grade. I just couldn't get over how beautiful, and how old she looked. She was as calm as a cucumber walking into her new class.
Emma on the first day of Kindergarten. She was nervous, and a little scared, but she was so brave. I couldn't have been more proud of her.
McKay on the first day of 4th grade. He's such a fine young man. He always impresses me so much with his dilligence to do what is required at school.
After we dropped them off both Sierra and I had a good cry that we didn't get to stay at the school with them all day. Sierra packed her lunch, got her backpack, put on her school clothes, walked over to the school, she just couldn't figure out why she didn't get to stay. Luckily the playground is within view from our house. So I think I will just sit at home with my binoculars today in hopes I can get a glimpse at their big day. How I love my little learners.

Ahh, Sierra's face is so precious!
isn't it hard to let them go?? I hope Emma had a great first day of school!
Sierra will have to have school with Spencer sometime soon!
Oh, what sweet kiddos! Lucky to have the school across the street. Ours is close but not that close! They are all so beautiful/handsome and so grown up. I know that tear stained face. Caroline's for a couple of years.
