Motivation

Everyone has different ways they go about getting motivated during challenging times. Last weekend I saw a motivational technique Russ has perfected over the years. He was putting together some shelves and was having some struggles since they were dent and scratch, and they apparently weren't going together as smoothly as the directions made it seem they should. Finally when he reached a frusterated point I saw him tell McKay lets say a prayer, and then turn on the Rudy sountrack music, and then try again. He explained to Mckay, if Rudy didn't give up his dream of playing for Notre Dame, we're not going to give up putting together these sheves. It worked like a charm. He loves that music and finds it very inspiring.
Speaking of things that inspire me. I love when the kids bring special art work home from school. We finally went through the pile and picked some of our favorites to hang up. It feels really good to finally be to the hanging pictures portions of the move.
My favorite pictures are always the self portraits. The cute part about this is the go BYU lettering on the bottom, and a star with arrows pointing out that he is a star. (both of which are hard to see in this picture)

When Lauren saw this picture that she made in Kindergarten she said, "Mom, why is my head floating". Personally I like the abstract look it adds.

Decorating with kids art is the best (and cheapest) kind of decorating. I love it!
