Galveston
We had a great time learning about the history of Galveston. We saw a movie depicting the life of the famous Pirate Lafitte. We also learned about the great storm of 1906 which devastated Galvaston, killing over 6,000 people. Prior to the storm, Galveston was the Pearl of the Gulf, serving as the financial and cultural capital of the region.
