Russ got a phone call from his cousin Ben saying he had two tickets to the BYU v. Oklahamo game that he couldn't use. Russ was tickled pink to be the lucky recipient of a chance to go see the big game at the fancy shmansy brand new stadium. Lauren was a lucky girl to get to go on a date with her dad to cheer on the cougs for our family. As Russ was pumping her us he said, "this will be a good chance for you to learn a little more about football". Emma overheard and queitly said to me, "I already know all about football. When they score you cheer, when they lose you don't. That's all you need to know". Sounds like Emma knows about as much as her mother about the sport. Russ said Lauren cheered her heart out, which was pretty brave since the tickets happened to be in the middle of the Oklahoma section.

Lauren told me after the game, "I cheered as hard as I could the whole time, the man behind us started to slow me down because he was drinking beer and yelling boo, boo, but I still kept on cheering."
The new Dallas Cowboy stadium has a big screen that is 60 yards long. (We think it's the biggest in the world) Russ especially enjoyed when they would display close ups of the players faces, and you could feel the immense pressure they were each under to perform their very best.
Notice there is a lot of red in this stadium. Russ was a little concerned about sitting in the middle of a potentially hostile intense crowd.
We were so proud of our boys for pulling out a 14 - 13 victory. It was definitely a historic once in a lifetime experience.

Heard that was an awesome game. I am a football moron. I tolerate it with Steve. He has tickets to the ASU games with a friend so he was out for the night. I let the girls invite a friend over and we went to dinner and the mall - a GNO. No football for us. I know my girls would love to go with their dads...if he keeps buying food and souvenirs!
