The funny things they say

This is an ongoing entry about funny things the kids say.

Emma and I went for a walk and saw a women who only had one hand. Her other arm was just a nub after the elbow. Emma was quite intrigued and had lots of questions to ask me regarding this. Much later out of the blue she said. Too bad she can't hold anything glass. I realized that when ever Emma is holding a plate, or something fragile, I always say, "use two hands".

We had a family home evening reviewing the life of our new prophet President Monson. Afterwards the kids always want to stand on the fireplace and "share their testimony". Emma's testimony was about how she really wanted the last prophet who was dead and in heaven to know she still loved him even though a new prophet was here now. She's always thinking of others.
Lauren's testimony was about how she was glad we had a prophet who taught us to be nice and dress modestly, instead of a prophet who says "hey everybody lets all go drink beer". I think we all share that sentiment.

This is not something funny that McKay said, but last week he was into drawing smiley faces everywhere. I set the table with paper plates, and before I could put the food on them their were smiley faces on each plate, since I didn't want to eat ink, we had to start all over. Then this Sunday I had everyone dressed and ready to go to church, I was trying to hurry us all out the door when I looked at Emma, she had a big smily face drawn on the front of her shirt. McKay had taken his new school markers and embellished her Sunday shirt. You can believe that mom was not wearing a smiley face at that moment.

9/5/08 - McKay recently read a book about a boy that sued the softball league because the ball broke his glasses. After McKay said "Mom, isn't there someone I can sue to earn money." I told him that usually it was better to forgive people. Later he said, "Mom, are Mormons allowed to sue people". Good question.
