Fay

No, Fay is not my grandmother, or a lady I visiting teach. Fay is the first of the tropical storm/hurricanes of the year. Luckily, she has not done too much damage to us, though tornadoes and floods have occured nearby. All we have to show for it is a small river in our front yard, and a 12 passenger van in our drive way. Florida Power and Light employees are all assigned storm duty. When there is a storm Russ picks up the V.I.P.s in this monster van and takes them to work. Yes, the VIP's are the call center employees. One person mentioned he was a very well payed bus driver. The other ERISA attorney he works with watches the VIP's children while they are answering the phones. Since there was a head lice outbreak last year in their little temp day care set up, I think Russ is getting the bargain of the deal. Besides it's kind of a macho thing to drive through floods and debris in the middle of a storm.
While Russ was out taking the kids on a monster van joy ride they saw a big old alligator just five houses down from us. I went to get a picture but only saw his eyes poking up, not his whole body. However, I did get a little video of our neighbors boogie boarding through the flooded street while being pulled by an ATV. Apparently, they're not too concerened about the alligaor.
