The family that plays together ...

A friend in the ward planned a family home evening for everyone interested in sharing their love for music, specifically piano music. The kids worked on a trio for the past few weeks named Sur le Pont d'Avignon. The music was pretty basic, but the challenge was getting the kids to play together without strangling each other. I remember when Russ and I were dating we worked on a duet together, I would always get excited for the note when our pinkies would have to touch. Well, the children did not share that same excitement, when fingers touched violent outbreaks would occur. But, I always am grateful for an opportunity for the kids to build a little unity, no matter how painful it is. When all was said and done, they did a beautiful job and grew a little closer in the process. Not to mention they looked so darn cute in their matching outfits.
