Big Time Bonus Points

Any ideas what I did this weekend. I'll give you a hint. A case of macaroni and cheese, a case of lucky charms, and 12 childrens videos from the library. You guessed it. I left Russ with the children, plus a friend's 3 children for the weekend. Luckily Jon came over (with his 3 children) and helped out. It was party central at the Shurtz house. They had baseball games, slumber parties, and more oreos than I'll ever know about. I thought Russ was pretty amazing to be so willing to watch all the kids, but when I saw that the house was immaculate when I got home, my awe for Russ rose to new levels. (He even rearranged the living room furniture).

The weekend away gave me a great time to reflect and ponder on all my blessings. I was able to go to the temple, and hear inspiring messages at the "Time out for Women" conference. It was also a great opportunity to have fun with my sistahs.

A big treat was seeing my mission companion, after roughly 15 years. She is one of the funnest people I have ever met. What memories we made together tracting the streets of Peris, Ca. I cried for 3 nights straight when I found out she was getting transferred. She gave us a griddle for our wedding that I still use on a weekly basis. Many times when I get it out I think of her and wonder how she is. What a thrill to finally reconnect.
