This Thursday was Take Your Child to Work Day, it was also Teacher Appreciation Day. I guess they figured the best way to show your teacher you appreciated her was by not going to school and giving her a break.
Florida Power and Light always does a great job putting together a fun day for the kids. This year Captian Conservation came, last year some presentor lit himself on fire.
The thing that made this year so special was that Emma was old enough to go for the first time. After years of seeing the older kids come home with goodybags full of FP&L paraphanelia, she finally had her own chance. She was nervous about it for weeks, and talked non-stop about it.

I love that FP&L gets involved with it too - I just wrote about my girlies going to work with Daddy-O. They always have such a great time but sadly, no one was there to set themselves on fire - how cool would that be? But they got to do relays with balloons between their knees and got pedometers, which, by the way, Lindsay is obsessed with watching her step count! And to think this was all to learn about Daddy's job as a software engineer/manager.
