Easter 2009

We spent this Easter in South Carolina with Russ' family. We enjoyed an ever so competitive wind up chicken race,an Easter Egg hunt,

and Easter baskets filled with a toothbrush, a swimming suit and a box of bandaids,

I had been looking forward to attending the church service with Russ' family, but lightening struck, the power went out and church was delayed. We needed to get on the road in order to make it home in time for Russ to get back to work and the children back to school. We drove through some small southern towns that had churches on every corner. We decided that the first one we saw that had a service just starting we would pull over and attend. We were excited to see lots church signs inviting the public to Easter Cantatas and special Easter Services. Unfortunately none of them were at the right time, but we felt blessed to find an LDS service starting as we drove through Columbia. It was for young single adults, since we are not young or single, we didn't quite fit the part, but they were welcoming nonetheless.

It was a wonderful weekend.
