Lauren recently participated in her school field day. They invited parents to come cheer them on. When I told Lauren I wanted to come she said, "Great mom, could you please wear high heels and a flowy skirt." Since it was field day, a not a Mrs. America contest, I chose a slightly more conservative outfit. Lauren approved and we had a great day seeing her participate in some creative and fun relay's and games. Here are a few of the olympic activities:
I know ever mother feels her child is head and shoulders above the rest, but here's a picture to prove that Lauren literally is head and shoulders above her peers. She's definitely one tall drink of water.
No field day would be complete without a gunny sack race.
This was my favorite activity. They had a torch passing event where they ran a short distance and passed the torch to a classmate who was staggered throughout the track. I have big plans to recreate this one for some family reunion.
This activity imagined that they were in the ocean and couldn't touch the ground. They had to move objects to keep going further down the line and reach shore.

It was a fun day filled with tug of war, frisbee toss, basketball and more. I can't believe she'll be in 2nd grade soon.
Today I curled her hair under for church. When she looked in the mirror she said, "Wow mom, I feel like a woman". Don't grow up too fast. I'm having too much fun with you as my little girl.
