While we were in Salt Lake City we decided to have a tea party together. Whenever Grandma Judy comes to visit she always enjoys having a tea party in the backyard with the girls. She even has started collecting little tea sets for them. So this was the icing on the cake, a truly once in a life time experience to go to the Grand America hotel, all decorated for Christmas, and sit near the fire, under an amazing chandelier and have a tea party, while carols were being played on the grand piano behind us. It was so fun for me to see my girls all dressed up haivng tea (well actually hot chocolate) with their grandma and Aunt Sande. We practiced any etiquette we could think of, and had a thrilling time eating our finger sandwiches, scones with English cottled cream and lemon curd, and every fancy dessert we could dream of. (Emma's favorite was the chocolate cup with chocolate mousse in it.)

They had this elegant centerpiece that was a big seed that they put in boiling water. Throughout the meal we watched the seed blossom into flowers. They said you could drink the water from it, but apparently it wasn't too tasty.

Mint hot chocolate

A coursey for the queen.

Aunt Sande rehearsed the pinky out while sipping technique, and chewing with little dainty bites.

This is heaven.

Grandma is looking extra sheek since she fell on the pavement face first that week, and had to wear sunglasses to hide the bruises all over her face. Swollen eyes and brused cheeks were not keeping our grandma away from this tea party though.

Their cousin Katie came along for the fun.
