A "Fantastic" Party

Sierra had her first "invite friends" birthday party this year.  She had been working hard all week getting ready for it, and the night before prayed that it would be "fantastic".  They helped boil the molasses, cut out the gingerbread, sort the candy and do most of the prep work.   They loved phoning daddy at work to ask his where the secret location of the Halloween Candy was.  We tell the children they can pick 15 pieces of their Halloween candy and the rest we save for gingerbread houses.  Since I have no self control when it comes to chocolate, Daddy hides it for us.  It was so fun for the girls to get it out and sort it and put it in baggies for their birthday guests.  At the party we played some parachute games, then read them the story of the gingerbread man and played "gingerbread man, gingerbread man, fox" a version of duck, duck, goose.  We also had a snowball relay, with cotton balls being run across the yard in soup ladles.  The children did really well decorating their houses.  Lauren and Emma came home from school during their lunch break to help with the party.  It was great having them there.  As the houses dried the children sang some Christmas songs with the bells and had a little parade - dance.  I'm quite certain Sierra's prayer was answered.
