We've been so lucky to have so much family around, we almost haven't noticed we don't have any friends.
It was such a treat to have family come visit. We felt honored that Uncle Bob and Aunt Janelle would find time to come visit on their short stay here. Thanks Ben and Afton for making the effort to come and visit. The kids had a great time getting to know their first cousins once removed. Most of the night was spent putting on dance routine shows involving lots of scarves and lots of hips.
four boys,
and four girls.
We think it's so great to have complimentary cousins. The week before Deb and Dave came to visit a few people would see McKay and offer him condolances on being the only boy with all sisters. He responded everytime, "that's O.K., because my cousins have all brothers and only one sister and they are coming to visit." After they left McKay asked when he could get together with them again. Russ jokingly said maybe McKay could take the greyhound bus and go visit them. On McKay's list of summer goals he put, "take the bus by myself". I'm sure we'll come up with some better solutions.
We've had so much fun getting to know our family here better. Our first weekend we had Christine and Eric with Bryce and Spencer and Suzanne for a visit. They were troopers to hang out in an empty house and not complain about sitting on a tile floor to eat their meals. They even sacrificed many of their blankets and pillows to make us comfortable until the moving truck arrived. We appreciated the vision they have for our new home. One day I dream of having Christine become my personal shopper.

It was a perfect combination when Deb and Dave's family came.
