By far, our favorite summer activity is going to the YMCA. We sing the song with the actions, load up in the van, and head over multiple times a week. The first couple of times the girls didn't want to take the test required to go down the slides. Then one morining I heard them psyching each other up and encouraging each other that today was the day. They marched right over to the life guard stand and jumped in for their required lap. They were so proud of themselves. I wasn't too worried about their success since you were allowed to wear a life jacket while swimming it. Still, I was proud they did something that was intimidating for them. I think we will get good use of our YMCA membership. And since their mama just signed up for a triathlon, I'm sure I'll get my own opportunity to to do something intimidating. If I only could wear a life jacket I think I'd be much less worried.
