A Grateful Heart

A few months ago the thought of moving our family 1/2 way across the country seemed overwhelming. The thought that I'd have to keep our house in "ready to show" condition with 5 young children and a husband who had already started his job multiple states away wasn't something I was looking forward to. The organizing, packing, selling, buying, unpacking, and reorganizing was daunting. So now that I'm over most of those hurdles, I sit here with a grateful heart for the many many people who helped me keep my sanity during the whole move. A few things people did that I would have never expected, but that lightened my load so much were: My Friend Carolyn brought dinner everynight for our last week. She even took the kids out shopping for airplane activities and backpacks,

Good friends like Ramona, Michelle, Meghan and Jamsey cleaned the house right up until we left for the airport,

We had the most curteous, patient, and hardworking movers I could have ever imagined. They really worked around our needs, (left the beds until the last minute, and waited to move things in the babies room until she was finished with her nap)

Our friend Beth patiently waited for us to finish so she could take us to the airport. She ran last minute errands with us and even had a church bag for each of the children. She has always been our angel that helps the children stay reverent during church by bringing things for them to color, now they still think of her at church when they open their bags she made for them.

So many unsolicited acts of service were performed on our behalf. I will always remember how much it meant to me to have so many people pour out love and help to help us through this transition.

I have to tell you, very few things make me cry. But reading this really makes me understand what a true friend is and I hope that occasionally I can be one. I know I have them and hope I am one too. I sure do hope everything is going well for you!!
