Valentine's Day gets better every year. When I was younger I never liked the day that much, because if you did not have a significant other you felt a little left out. When Russ and I got engaged we knew we needed to get married during his placement break from Law School. It would have worked out most conveniently if we were to get married on Valentines day, and then have the following week to honeymoon and travel to our reception in South Carolina. But I just couldn't do it, I couldn't have a valentine wedding. So we got married on a Tuesday the following week instead, not so conventient for our guests, but now we get to have love week, where we have Valentines day one day and our anniversary shortly thereafter. It's fun to have so many people to love.

We made our traditional heart pizza and heart shaped waffles for breakfast. Russ and I were blessed to be able to take a little honeymoon retreat the week before. His mom flew down and watched the children (we took Savannah) so we could have a little time to ourselves. It was heavenly. We owe you mom.

Love it!!! I totally agree with you. I think crazy family traditions are the best - I like to forget about romantic pressures of that day and celebrate a big fat love fest with the family!
