Just a few funny things the kids have said recently that I wanted to make sure I didn't forget.
Lauren was asked at school to write a paragraph about what her favorite activity to do was. Any guesses? Going shopping at the mall for high heels. I love this because it shows her personality so much. I can count the number of times Lauren has been to the mall on one hand, and everytime I wear high heels I feel like I am going to fall over, so I know she thinks this is so great not because of her environment, but simply because she was born a fancy girl and has a fashion spirit all her own.
Another comment Lauren said made me smile. We were having a family home evening and talked about pornography. I mentioned that sometimes they may see pictures on magazine covers that have people dressed without much clothing on, and that they should look away. Lauren sheepishly said, "once I saw a picture of an Indian without a shirt on".
McKay was addressing his valentines for his classmates this morning at the breakfast table. They were a holograph dinosaur design. Lauren asked, "are you going to give those to the girls too? It was so cute to hear McKay explain to Lauren that if you give pretty heart mushy valentines to girls they might think you like them, but if you give scary T-Rex valentines it is pretty obvious there is no romance involved and therefore no mixed messages to worry about. It seems he has things figured out.

Over the weekend Lauren said to me, "you know Zach's mom at church? She wears really high heels." She promised she would help me pick out a new pair of black heels just as soon as my life starts back up again.
Oh, the heel obsession! Lindsay finally got the "high heels" I said she could have in 2nd grade. They want to grow up so soon.
