B-Day Bonanza

Since it was President's day, and the kids were off of school, I suggested we go have breakfast at the beach to watch the sunrise. I had wanted to do this for some time and was excited to finally have the opportunity. (note to self, next time check the weather forecast to make sure it is not super overcast and freezing cold).

It was a little on the nippy side, but everyone made the most of it and still found lots of treasures,

Lauren found some beautiful shells,

Emma found some trash that needed to be thrown away,

Mckay brought us some coral

Savannah brought us laughter

and Dad brought us the Good Word.
After the beach we went home and all had Baths, I went Back to Bed while the kids watched Brady Bunch. Then it was off to bowling.

We then delivered some Belated Birthday presents to our cousins, and went to mall to looks for some bargain buys. Yes, dreams do come true because Lauren got to go to mall and try on high heels. When we walked by Build a Bear the kids reminded me it was B-day, but I lovingly tried to teach them another B phrase - burst your bubble. We decided to get ice-cream instead.

We were all excited to tell Daddy about our big day. After the kids were in bed I sheepishly said to Russ, "Sweetie, I spent a little bit of money today". He smiled and said, that's perfect because I earned a little bit of money today. Is he the best husband or what.
When I tucked McKay in he said, mom we've got to start thinking about what letter to choose for the next day we're out of school. I think a tradition has been born.
