An Ode to Mothers (at least to mine)

Russ and I have often commented that we probably have the two hardest working mothers on the face of the earth. This week Barbara came to help me get back on my feet after having Savannah. She was amazing. In one week she cleaned and organized every cupboard, closet, laundry room, patio and bedroom she could see. A few times I would get up in the middle of the night to feed Savannah, and would hear her cleaning the kitchen, or straightening the toy closet. I would look at the clock and see that it was 3:00 in the morning. I think there was a 48 hour period that she never slept. It was such a burden lifted from my shoulders to feel like I just need to maintain order now. It was such a blessing to our family to have her here for a week. In between all the cleaning projects she still found time to:
ride bikes on the canal,
snuggle Savannah Grace

help Lauren get ready for her oral report on turles

make bubbles at the Science Center

play Sequence, Candyland, Chess, Stratego,

shoot a few hoops with McKay

and make halloween cookies with the children.
Not bad for one weeks time.
