A musician in the making

Lauren participated in her first music concert this Saturday. Since she just started she wasn't ready to perform a piano song, but she was asked to announce one of the other performers. She went to the front of the stage and told the name of the performer, the music and a little history of this Bohemian folksong. She now proudly carries her melodica with her, a little keyboard that you blow into which allows the piano perfomers to still perform outside with the string performers. Her lessons are a bit of a lengthy commute, but seem to be a great opportunity for her to have a lesson, a group lesson, and lots of opportunities to perform. They regularly perform at Hospice and other community settings, so, we'll see what happens once we graduate from playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star using the "Mississippi Hot Dog" rhythm.
