A big weekend

This past weekend my good husband watched all the kids while I went by myself to Washington state. I went for lots of reasons.
One reason was so I could see my brother walk his only daughter down the aisle,I also went so I could go for a long run with my oldest brother, who just finished his third marathon. It would have been worth the trip just for the run, which entailed lots of rain, low temperatures, steep inclines, getting lost, off roading through muddy forested areas, sneaking through people's backyards to find a shortcut, having people let their dogs loose on us while we were sneaking through their back yards, asking three people for directions, and having a good Samaritan finally drive us home. Good times for sure.

Another reason I went was so I could pretend I was a Charlie's Angel,

and to see my nephew Brent receive his Eagle in Scouting.

It was great to spend a few uninterrupted days with my family. A few other highlights were playing duets and singing Christmas songs with my nephew McKeon, being asked to dance at the wedding with my nephew Bryce, and visiting with my Dad who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
The last highlight was having the house clean and ready for Christmas company when I got back home.
