Matthew's first days

Matthew's first few hours were mostly spent with us staring at him in awe and wonder.

We celebrated his first official birthday with a cake the cafeteria surprised us with.
But the next day we were down to serious business. He had been spitting up quite a bit of brown blood throughout the night. The pediatrician thought he had swallowed some blood while coming through the birth canal, and decided he needed to get his stomach flushed out with a saltwater bath. He had to have a little tube put down his throat. He did great and had no problems after that.

Next he was off to be circumcised. Need I say more.

Luckily, he was greeted by his loving grandparents who not only had the house looking lovely for his arrival, but also gave him a loving foot rub.

He was excited to have lots of visitors and love. It was fun for him to meet his cousin Trevor, and get the low down from a veteran 4 month old on how this whole crazy world works.

He has already blessed our lives so much. It's been a blissful week just enjoying having him home and holding him close.
