Sierra and Matthew share in common that they both came home in a stocking. It's nice to have some December reminders that Christmas is really all about a very special birth. Matthew was past his due date and I went in to my appointment with the Dr hoping to be induced as soon as possible. When they called the hospital they realized the first available induction wasn't for 6 more days. I cried. Then on the morning of the scheduled day they called at 4:00 a.m. and said no beds were available, and I'd have to wait a little longer. I went back into Russ and said, I think I know a little how Mary and Joseph must have felt when they kept telling them there was "no room in the inn."
It took 10 years to get a brother, but was well worth the wait.

It was so nice to have Grandma and Grandpa holding down the fort at home, so Russ and I could be together at the hospital without worrying about the children. Having their help the weeks before the delivery is a blessing I will always treasure.
He loves to stick out his tongue. During the birth process, when only his head was out, he looked up (he was born sunny-side up) and stuck out his tongue, before the rest of his body was even out. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We're so happy for his safe arrival. I can't look at him without a wave of gratitude washing over me.
