Ketchikan was a dream come true for Russ. He went out on a fishing boat and caught multiple salmon. I chose to do a little shopping around town, and then took a duck tour, the vehicles that drive around town, and then right into the water since they are both a boat and a car. I enjoyed learning the history of the city and lots about Salmon. I thought the most fascinating tidbit was that Salmon are born in rivers, they swim out into the ocean and live for about 7 years, then they are ready to lay eggs they swim miles and miles all the way back to where they are born, passing plenty of good egg laying creeks and rivers, to lay their eggs within 15 inches of where they were born.
Ketchikan was also a dream come true for Jen, the chocoholic buffet. An entire room was dedicated to everything chocolate. Chocolate fondue, cake, cheesecakes, dipped fruit, etc. etc. They had chocolate chess sets and chocolate guitars, you name it, they had it in chocolate. Luckily, the glutony of the week was starting to get to us, and we mustered a small degree of self control.
