We had such a fun day going to Fort Worth, TX yesterday. We woke up bright and early, got the children all dolled up in their BYU attire and danced around the house listening to the BYU fight song. After driving for about 41/2 hours we met my brother Jared and his son Austin and daughter Demi for lunch. It was fun to catch up with them and let the cousins get to know each other a little better. Then we enjoyed walking around the historic Stockyards together. We left them to go to the TCU campus and cheer on our cougars while they played basketball. It's was amazing to feel the adrenaline as we walked into the arena and heard the music and saw the players being announced and running onto the court. There was so much to look at between the cheerleaders, mascot, big TV screens etc that after the game had been going for about 10 minutes Emma leaned over to me and asked, "has it started yet?" It's been fun to see Jimmer Ferdette getting so much national media coverage. McKay made a big sign in his honor and held it up during the game. It was definitely worth the almost ten hours in the car to see Jimmer and Jared.
The day before Savannah-Grace came out of her room after her nap looking like this. I guess she had seen fans who painted their face bright blue and wanted to do the same. We will not mention what the walls looked like. Thank heavens for washable markers and magic erasers. (unfortunately, I did not put the camera back in the bag when I was done taking this picture, so we have no photos of our fun day.) Lesson learned.

On Thursday our family attended the cub scout blue and gold dinner. We knew it was true love when that ended up being our romantic anniversary date. For dessert they served very blue cake. Savannah enjoyed playing in at as much as eating it.

Unfortunately, McKay also enjoyed the cake. That is until he threw it up all night. He's very sensitive to the dye in food coloring, so all night long he was very sick. I was shocked when I helped him to realize he was throwing up bright blue. I liked to tease him that he was such a die hard fan that he did not "bleed blue", but he "threw up blue." I guess he really is Blue through and through.

Hey Jen!
Our family has gone to 4 or 5 of BYU's basketball games this season and my kids absolutely love it!! They are on the first name basis with Jimmer, Jackson, Noah, etc. They are definitely die-hard Cougar fans! That's neat that your family was able to see a BYU game also. If you guys lived closer, our families could go to the games together!
