This past week we finally were hooked up to city water. This may seem like a trivial matter, but it is actually a life changing event, that almost makes me weep every time I think of the miraculous miracle that it is. We previously had yellow water that smelled like sulfer, produced random levels of pressure (if any came out at all), and corroded our dishwasher, toilets, tubs and anything else it came in contact with. To have fresh clear drinkable, bathable water is truly a cause for celebration. I felt I had contributed to making our house worthy of such a blessing by scrubbing the toilets and bathtubs and disassembling the dishwasher and scraping off all the hardwater calcium buildup that had caused it to stop functioning. Russ, however, topped all of this by finishing staining our banister, finishing painting the entire exterior of our house, and mowing the lawn all last Saturday. If this does not make any wife the luckiest lady around, he cleaned the office this Saturday and even threw a "you're through with the first trimester party" with two boxes of Lucky charms, Klondike ice-cream bars, and pineapple soda pop. Does life get any better?
